CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -Retro holiday spirit and spirits will be served up at Lake Effects Holiday Pop-Up Cocktail Bar in the Schofield Building.
The limited-run operation is a collaboration with Parker’s Downtown.
Cleveland 19 News got the first look inside as staff and designers put the finishing touches on the concept, in a previously unoccupied space inside the historic Schofield Building at the corner of East 9th Street and Euclid Avenue.
Inside you’ll find a tinsel chandelier, support beams covered in holiday plaid, giant ornaments, a Christmas tree and plenty of nods to “A Christmas Story.”
The space, designed by S.E.A, an events driven creative agency, will also include a 20 foot bar with vintage televisions playing classic Christmas movies, and a social moment wall decked out in mistletoe.
Lake Effects will offer a full bar and specialty cocktails like the “Santa Clausmopolitan," “Clark Griswold” and the “Lake Effects Blitzzard.”
The menu of small bites includes references to “A Christmas Story” like pork fried egg rolls and Parker’s Lo Mein.
In addition, Great Lakes Brewing will donate a $1 from each Alberta Clipper draft beer sold to Shoes & Clothes for Kids, a non-profit to help local kids stay in school.
The bar will launch on Friday, Nov. 23 and will remain open through New Year’s Eve.
