CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -Twice a week inmates in the Summit County Jail in Akron can order commissary items and it turns out some items are bigger sellers than others.

The jail has a capacity of 671 inmates, which means the orders can be large and varied.

The items are purchased from an inmates' “trust account,” according to a Summit County Sheriff’s office spokesman.

Family and friends can put money into that account.

Here are the five most ordered items in the Summit County Jail:

  1. Ramen Noodle Soup- $1.00
  2. Iced Honey Buns- $1.20
  3. Twin Beef Sticks- $1.30
  4. Jalapeno Potato Chips- $.70
  5. Instant Coffee- $3.67

Earlier this year we requested and received the same list from the Cuyahoga County Jail and some of the same items were on the list but at much lower prices.
