CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Hundreds spent the morning saying goodbye to Shaker Heights Teacher Aisha Fraser.
As you may recall she was the woman allegedly stabbed to death by her ex-husband, and former judge, Lance Mason.
Saturday morning, family and friends gathered on Cleveland’s East Side for their final farewell.
“Aisha was a very beautiful person. Always full of energy. Beautiful smile,” said Aisha’s former classmate, and sorority sister, Sara Corprew,"
Another friend in attendance, who didn’t want to be identified by name, spoke to Cleveland 19 about saying goodbye one final time.
“I’m kinda sad about it. She was a good friend of mine. She never harmed anybody, always willing to help people,” said Aisha’s friend.
What’s sad, he said, was that he and Alisha had fallen out of contact over a year ago. He never expected the next time he’d see her would be in a casket.
“I didn’t expect to bury a high school friend so soon. I’m waiting til we get 80 and 90 years old, that’s expected, but not like this and especially not the way it happened,” he added.
“I just hope that we can find some positive in this being more caring about each other and being aware about domestic violence,” concluded Corprew.
Lance Mason has pleaded not guilty to his ex-wife’s murder.
He’s is also being charged with grand theft, felonious assault, violating a protection order.
