Northeast Ohio Weather: Cold and sunshine stick around this week

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Despite us not making it above 30° today, we saw a lot of sun across NE Ohio.

This trend is going to hold on through the week, which is GREAT news for the second week of December!

Lucky for us, we’ve got a big ridge of high pressure keeping things quiet, and steadily cold, over the next week.

The huge dry air mass is also keeping all of the moisture away from the state, and bringing a major snow storm to our friends in the Carolinas this weekend. Luckily, the Panthers will be playing the Browns here at First Energy this weekend, or things could’ve gotten a little messy (weather wise...can’t speak for the way the game goes tomorrow!).

Overnight lows will drop to around 20° once again, with mostly clear skies. It's going to be a cold start for those tailgating tomorrow and running the Jingle Bell run in the morning.

High temperatures tomorrow will be a bit warmer than they were Saturday, but only in the low to middle 30s.

We’ll steadily warm into the upper 30s through the start of the work week next week.

Go ahead and get the car washed, because precipitation doesn’t come back into the forecast until late next Thursday.

With temperatures slowly warming above freezing through the week, it looks like the only thing we’ll be dealing with heading into the end of the work week and next weekend will be rain.

Until then, enjoy the sun!
