Rocky River police looking for Salvation Army bell ringer they say stole $600

ROCKY RIVER, OH (WOIO) - Police signed an arrest warrant Tuesday for a Salvation Army bell ringer accused of stealing $600.

According to Rocky River police, the bell ringer was at the Giant Eagle on Dec. 17, when she noticed a wallet on the ground.

Officers said the surveillance video shows the woman picking up the wallet and removing the $600, before turning it into customer service.

The owner of the wallet called police when she noticed the money was missing.

When officers arrived at the store, the bell ringer had already been picked up by the Salvation Army driver.

The suspect is a 47-year-old woman from Cleveland.
