CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Browns microscopic chances of making the playoffs were dashed on Saturday when Tennessee rallied past Washington 25-16.
Among other things, the Browns needed the Titans to lose to Washington and then finish in a tie with Indianapolis next week. Pittsburgh and Baltimore would’ve had to lose the rest of their games and the Colts would’ve had to lose this week, before tying the Titans next week. The path was slim, but it was a path.
Baker Mayfield and company still have things to play for though. They have the chance to finish with a winning record. 8-7-1 is within their grasp with victories over Cincinnati and Baltimore in their final two games. The Browns have not finished with a winning record since 2007 when they authored a 10-6 season that did not end in a playoff birth.
The Browns play the Bengals Sunday at 1:00 at First Energy Stadium, their final home game of the 2018 season.
