CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - You’d never know that Allison Miller was meeting some of her relatives for the first time.

“This is literally something you see on TV. This doesn’t happen to you," she said.

But it did. Earlier this year, Allison got the results back from a 23andMe DNA kit: she was trying to find her biological father, Terrance Wilson.

She was adopted at 2 years old by her mother's husband, a man she considers her dad but she still had questions about her biological father.

“You wanna know but you don’t wanna destroy what you in life at this point," said Allison.

She found out that Terry Wilson died last year but many of his relatives were alive and still in the area, including her uncle David, who reached out to her via Facebook to arrange a get-together. A few of the Wilsons met her for dinner.

“It was awkward for about 10 seconds and then it wasn’t awkward at all," said David Wilson.

“It was weird because I had a sense of peace," said Allison.

She’s finding out she has a lot in common with her Wilson family, especially her half-brother, who lived just one town over from her their entire lives: eye-color, music and photography.

“She really looks like my youngest brother, we see that," said

And so now Allison says she will get to know the rest of the Wilson and enjoy both of her families.
