Cuyahoga Falls man accused of driving drunk and hitting officer ordered to stay away from drinking alcohol

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A 56-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man accused of driving drunk and crashing into a Macedonia Police officer pleaded not guilty in court on Friday morning.

Investigators said James Marshall was charged with OVI.

He is allowed to stay out of jail on a signature bond, meaning he has to return to court for his trail.

The judge ordered Marshall to not consume any alcohol or any drugs, he is also not allowed to drive a car.

Police said Marshall crashed into the officer on Interstate 271 around 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Authorities said the officer was assisting on a traffic stop.

The officer had to spend Christmas Eve in the hospital, according to investigators.
