Ohio medical board to consider adding more conditions for medical marijuana treatment

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The State Medical Board of Ohio will meet Wednesday afternoon to discuss accepting additional medical conditions that can be treatable with marijuana.

Medical marijuana products are expected to become available in Ohio dispensaries in the near future. The program was supposed to be operational in Sept. 2018.

Under current regulations, patients seeking medical marijuana treatment must have at least one of 21 allowable conditions, which include AIDS, Parkinson’s disease, cancer, and epilepsy.

The medical board’s meeting to review petitions for new conditions that can be treated with medical marijuana is scheduled for 3 p.m.
