CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Just before 5 p.m. Thursday, a fire broke out in the 3500 block of E. 110 Street, with occupants still inside the home.
According to Lt. Mike Norman of the Cleveland Fire Department, Engine Co’s 36,41,11, Hook & Ladders 36 & 11, Tech Rescue Co 1, Chief of the 5th Battalion all responded to the scene.
They were able to get the family out safely and quickly brought the blaze under control. Norman said the fire originated in the attic.
We’re told the home didn’t have heat when the fire broke out and that electric heaters are the suspected cause, though the fire remains under investigation.
The Red Cross was at the scene to assist the residence, who will not be able to return until repairs are made.
