McHENRY, IL (WOIO) - Police officers in McHenry, Ill. had a run in with a ‘disorderly squirrel' on December 29, 2018 that was caught on video. The event quickly turned comical as the squirrel seemed confused about which way to exit the vestibule.

Officers appeared to be working together to set free the squirrel that got caught between two glass doors leading into the lobby of the police station.

The video appeared on the police department’s Facebook page where officers joked that this was a test of the officers ability to handle disorderly conduct.

The police reported that the squirrel did eventually leave the building without any injury coming to man or beast.

Squirrel Training

In 2019 we're upping our training game. This video is a test of our officer's ability to handle disorderly subjects who come in to the police department. We were inspired by Rocky chasing a chicken, because 'if you can catch a chicken, you can catch greased lightning!' - right?. "If you can handle a squirrel, you can handle, well, we don't know, that's why we're training!" **Note, Mr. Squirrel made it out just fine and was not injured. Our officers on the other hand, they are seeking counseling.**
