Strongsville teen convicted in 2017 deadly accident learns her fate

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The teen driver who caused a deadly accident in Strongsville in June of 2017, has now been sentenced.

The teen, who was 16-years-old at the time of the crash, was driving on Albion Road when she hit a tree.

Kailee Mayher, 16, was killed.

Mayher was a sophomore at Strongsville High School.

Four other passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

The driver pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault.

Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court Judge Alison Floyd sentenced her to community control until April 24, 2022.

Judge Floyd also suspended her driving privileges until April 24, 2022.

And, as part of her sentence, the teen will write apology letters to all victims and their families and continue her education.
