CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - We’re staying on top of developing news as to why a 3-year-old was found roaming the streets of Cleveland at 1 a.m. over the weekend.
The toddler was found early Sunday with nothing on but a nightgown in freezing temperatures.
Although she’s safe now, many are wondering how this happened.
“When I saw that she went all the way to Locke, I was like: that’s two blocks up the street. Where was mom?” asked a neighbor wishing not to be named.
It’s a question that’s still on the minds of people living on Cleveland’s East Side.
That woman claims she never saw anything out of the ordinary.
“In the mornings when we leave to go to work, I’d see mom bring her out,” she said.
But, it turns out, there may have been a few issues involving the parents in the past.
“There were some issues in the summertime about domestic violence, but that was about it,” the woman recalled.
Regardless, both Destiny and her 1-year-old brother have both been placed in emergency foster homes while social workers at the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services work to investigate the situation.
Cleveland 19 will stay on top of this story as more details come to light.
