CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will begin stocking Ohio’s public lakes with fish for anglers beginning this week.
More than 100,000 rainbow trout will be released into 66 bodies of water throughout Ohio.
The first rainbow trout release is scheduled for March 8 at Adams Lake in southwestern Ohio. Additional releases will take place through May 19 as frozen lakes begin to thaw.
The ODNR hopes that by stocking the lakes throughout the state, good fishing will be available for anglers of all ages.
In Ohio, anglers age 16 and older are required to possess a valid fishing license.
