CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The insiders, analysts, players, coaches and everyone east of the Mississippi was right--the Cleveland Browns have added star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to their roster.

Cleveland acquired Beckham Jr. and defensive end Olivier Vernon in a trade that sent right guard Kevin Zeitler and safety Jabrill Peppers to the Giants.

Cleveland also sent its 2019 first-round pick (17th overall) and the 2019 third-round selection (95th overall) they acquired in a 2018 trade with the New England Patriots.

Cleveland 19 hit downtown to get on-the-street reactions from fans:

“I’m very excited for the jersey. Been an Odell fan for a long time. Coming out of LSU, very excited to have him here in Cleveland. I think it’s going to be fun to watch him and Jarvis tear up the field this season," said fan Jimmy Maskil from FirstEnergy Stadium.

Joseph Chasar works in the Refinery Barber Shop downtown. He and his friends are ecstatic over the news that OBJ will soon be wearing a Browns jersey.

“Everybody has been going nuts since we got Odell. It’s been crazy. They were acting like we won a playoff game or something. They were down there chanting ‘Here we go Brownies, here we go!’ It’s been madness. Gone are the days of the streets clearing out at half-time. It’s super exciting. I’m stoked."
