Man gunned down in Elyria, police searching for shooter

ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) - The Elyria Police Department has issued a warrant for the arrest of Ivan Brooks, 34, for the murder of Terrence Taylor.

Suspected killer on the loose after Elyria man shot to death at home

According to police, Taylor was found shot to death just before 3 a.m. at his front door off the 800 block of West Broad Street.

The 45-year-old man had multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Brooks last lived on Lexington Avenue in Lorain, and officers noted that the two men knew each other.

“Terrence, he was a loving guy, laughing. Always loved to smile, very giving. He was like my little brother. I think when he was born I was about 11 years old and didn’t have no little brothers. I just had his dad and my other brothers, which they’re gone now,” Taylor’s uncle told Cleveland 19.
