Cleveland police charge 21-year-old with aggravated vehicular homicide after deadly hit and run

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Police charged 21-year-old Davonte Long with aggravated vehicular homicide and failure to stop after an deadly hit and run crash March 15 which claimed the life of a 67-year-old Cleveland man.

Family speaks out after deadly hit and run

Camilo Gabriel, 67, was killed at the intersection of West 25th and Woodbridge Avenue.

Long is not in custody. An arrest warrant was issued Saturday, March 23.

The vehicle was found at 12113 Emery Ave. in Cleveland, which police believe is Long’s address.

“My husband put both hands and he pushed me,” a devastated Gabriel said of the moment her husband of nearly 39 years saved her life by sacrificing his own.

Gabriel was rushed to MetroHealth Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
