CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - As the IX Indoor Amusement Park prepares to open, organizers are still working to shake negative perceptions of the popular, weeks-long event.
Witnesses of several fights that broke out two years go told Cleveland 19 they feared for their lives.
Now the IX center is doing more to keep people safe in the park.
Rob Attewell is the show manager.
“If you’re the kind of person that feels comfortable when you see security, you’re going to be really comfortable out here. This is going to be a safe place," he said.
The major change implemented last year deals with minors.
They aren’t allowed in without an adult after 5 p.m.
Attewell said last year the rule, along with additional security, prevented problems and allowed families to focus on the fun.
“We’ve got games. We’ve got rides. We’ve got great food, great entertainment. It’s a lot of fun,” Attewell said.
The park opens Friday at 11 a.m. and runs through April 22.
