“The field is like a beacon of light in the middle of chaos. Really. There’s so many things going on in the world and the sunflower field, I feel like, really speaks to so many different people and so many different ways and that’s the beauty of the field. And what we like to say here is you know the way it speaks to people in different ways for different people, translates into good things for these kids who are suffering from cancer. So, it really creates a beautiful gift for all these kids so you gotta love that," Megan McNamara, founder, Prayers From Maria Foundation.

Organizers are searching for a new plot of land to plant fresh sunflowers in the coming years.

So far, the local charity has given more than $1 million to support brain cancer research.
