CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cleveland Indians announced on Tuesday that Mike Clevinger has been placed on the Injured List.

The Indians pitcher was evaluated by a physician and diagnosed with a high-grade strain of his Teres major muscle in his upper back.

He is expected to be re-evaluated in six-to-eight weeks.

Clevinger departed Sunday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays early.

He has pitched in 12 innings so far this season and has only allowed two hits while striking out 22 batters.
