Ashtabula man found guilty of driving drunk and killing three adults and a baby

ASHTABULA, OH (WOIO) - An Ashtabula man pleaded no contest to driving drunk and causing a crash that killed four people; including, a 22-month-old boy, his parents and a 47-year-old woman.

Donte Conard was speeding and ran a stop sign at West 58th and Adams Avenue in Ashtabula on Oct. 19, 2018.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said Conard’s Dodge Ram truck slammed into a Toyota Corolla driven by Giovanni Miller, 18, of Ashtabula.

Miller, his 22-month-old son, Giovanni Miller Jr., the baby’s mother Anastiasa Smith, 19, of Ashtaula, and Michelle Ann Hommes, 47, of Ashtabula were all pronounced dead at the scene.

This was Conard’s 5th OVI offense.

19 News is waiting on the sentencing information from Ashtabula County Common Pleas Court.
