CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Deep low pressure over New York will move northeast and away from us today. A ridge of high pressure will build north into the local area today and then shift east of the area tonight. A warm front will lift north over the region Tuesday evening. Low pressure will slowly move northeast through the central Great Lakes Wednesday through Friday, with a lingering stationary front south to the Gulf Coast states. Another area of low pressure will develop over the Ohio Valley Friday and will remain nearly stationary through the weekend.
(The translation here is that Thursday will probably be our only totally dry day this week.)
Short Term Forecast:
Good afternoon! It has been rather dreary, chilly, and windy today, hasn’t it? I know that this is less than ideal for April 15th. Thankfully, there are clearing skies moving through our western counties. Skies will continue to gradually clear from west to east this afternoon. Winds will finally back off through the evening.
Clouds will thicken up again after midnight. Temperatures will fall into the mid and upper 30s before sunrise.
Shower Chances Through Mid-Week:
With a warm front in the area Tuesday and Wednesday, we’ll have to keep occasional shower chances in the forecast.
At this time, it looks like rain will move in by mid-to-late morning Tuesday. We will see a few breaks in the rain Tuesday afternoon. Additional hit or miss showers are possible Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Despite our shower chances, things will be warming up.
Tuesday’s high: 62°
Wednesday’s high: 68°
We all know that Spring in northern Ohio features its share of ups and downs.
After topping out in the 60s Tuesday and Wednesday, we’re shooting for the 80s on Thursday. Woohoo!
Unfortunately, that warm weather will be short-lived.
Friday’s high (Good Friday): 68°
Saturday’s high: 52°
Sunday’s high (Easter Sunday): 62°
After a dry and quiet Thursday, unsettled weather will return on Friday.
At this time, models are indicating widespread rain and thunder on Friday. Showers will linger into Saturday. We could even see a few showers on Sunday morning before clouds part for Easter afternoon.
