CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - There was a major pile-up on I-480 Eastbound Tuesday morning, backing up traffic for 5 miles.
The root of the problem was a construction project running behind.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the project on I-480 between Warrensville Road and I-271 was scheduled to be completed at 5 a.m., but workers weren’t able to clear the scene until 7:30 a.m.
Construction workers are in the process of resurfacing I-480, between Warrensville Center Road and Emery.
The start date was April 15 and they expect to be finished by September 2019.
