WICKLIFFE, OH (WOIO) - Still no arrests in the Evolution Nightclub Shooting but police are not giving up.

Cops in Wickliffe have identified close to 300 people who were at the club Sunday evening and have interviewed over 40 of them yet they still need additional cooperation from the public to the identity of the shooter.

The gunman is described as a boy about 15-17 years of age, wearing a black coat and blue jeans, as well as a black "skull cap" type of hat on his head.

Wickliffe Detectives are currently pursuing several leads, but are asking that anyone with information about the shooter, or the juveniles involved in the fight, contact the Wickliffe Police Department at 440-943-1234 or Crime Stoppers

Two teens were shot around 11:30PM Sunday night at the popular teen nightclub. Evolution usually hosts a big party for teenagers every Sunday, and police believe between 200-300 kids were in attendance when gunfire erupted.

Trouble started earlier in the night, when several teens were ejected from the club after an altercation. It is believed one of the troublemakers returned with a semi-automatic handgun and fired about three rounds inside the bar, as well as several additional rounds in the parking lot. The thug fled the scene immediately after the shooting and before officers arrived.

A 15-year-old Solon boy and 15-year-old Cleveland girl - both innocent bystanders - were shot. The boy was struck in the lower leg, and was taken to an area hospital where he underwent surgery. The girl was grazed by a bullet on her lower back. She was also taken to an area hospital, but later transferred to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital where she is currently being held for observation. Both teens are expected to recover.

A security guard was struck on his pant leg by a bullet, however, the bullet struck the keys in his pocket and exited his pant leg without causing injury.

19 Action News has learned Evolution Night Club has had repeated problems in the past, and Wickliffe City Council passed an ordinance to place conditions on how the business could operate.

The next four events - slated between now and January 3rd at the club - have been canceled in wake of the shooting.
