Evin King was convicted of the murder of his girlfriend in 1995. He always maintained his innocence. This year, the Appeals Court ordered a hearing on King's claims regarding the advancement of DNA testing. The Prosecutor's Office consulted with the Medical Examiner who explained that the way DNA evidence was interpreted at the time of King's trial is no longer valid today. As a result, Prosecutor O'Malley has asked the court to vacate King's conviction.
