New Russia Township, OH (WOIO) - New developments in a deadly plane crash in New Russia Township Monday afternoon.

A plane went down shortly after 2PM on Monday near the Lorain County Regional Airport at Oberlin and Russia Roads.

NTSB investigators spent Tuesday afternoon at the crash scene combing through the wreckage. They are trying to piece together what caused the plane to go down - there was no black box. Investigators plan to take a closer look at the pilot and how much time he logged flying the aircraft as well as the plane's approach.

Four people - Pilot Wesley Roemer, passenger John Mengelson and Donald and Shirley Brown -were on the Turbo Prop plane when it went nose down. OSP tells 19 Action News that no one survived.

"The plane was on approach to the airport when obviously it crashed as it crossed the fence," said Lt. Travis Hughes. "At this time we don't know what caused it....the go down."

Don Brown was an inventor from Vermilion - he's the man who created the drop ceiling. He and his wife, Shirley, were coming home from visiting family in Florida.
