Daughter charged with using morphine to kill father

LORAIN, Ohio - A daughter accused of killing her father with a deadly dose of morphine last year has now been officially charged, Action News reported.

Patricia Heiland is accused of giving her 73-year-old father large doses of the drug while he was in her care.

Police said that Heiland gave her father the lethal doses within a five-day span.

Heiland said that she loved her father deeply and brought him home from the nursing home to die peacefully.

She faces charges of involuntary manslaughter, deception to obtain a dangerous drug and corrupting her father.
