CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The man accused of beating a woman to death in the Metro parks plans to enter a plea to a three-judge panel, in an effort to avoid the death penalty.

Police say 39 year old Todd Torok attacked 52 year old Chevonne Ecclestone, smashing a 15 pound rock over her head then taking her wallet and car.

The attack happened May 10 near Camp Corde in Parma.  Ecclestone had been out walking her dog.

Torok, a crack addict, had just gotten out of prison.  He has been arrested 36 times over the last 20 years.
