AKRON, OH (WOIO) - An update to an alleged rape on the University of Akron campus.

Akron officials now say there is not enough evidence to prove an alleged rape happened on the campus in late March.

This, after a 15-year-girl says she was sexually assaulted inside a stairwell at the Polsky Building. The girl attends University classes through Akron Public Schools Early College High School Program.

The teen never gave police a description of the suspect.

A recent e-mail sent to UofA students from school officials, states, "University police conducted an extensive investigation" into the claim and "has determined the evidence does not support the allegation of sexual assault."
