CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Sentencing day for two men involved in a double shooting of two Bay Village teens. Anthony Faraj was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Anthony Pollard was sentenced to life with the eligibility of parole after 21 years.
On March 24, 2008, Faraj was involved with Anthony Pollard in the shooting death of 19-year-old Mosa Shafik, who was sitting in his pick-up located on West 83rd Street in Cleveland.
Zaki Touma, 17, of Bay Village, was the passenger of the vehicle and was shot and wounded.
The double shooting happened just before 11PM at W. 83rd Street & Lorain.
According to police, Touma told them he and Shafik pulled over on W. 83rd - looking for an friend - when a stranger approached the truck and asked for a light.
Once the window was cracked, the suspect opened fire on the teens.
The truck then careened into a near-by tree.
The friends were members of the wrestling team and the school tells 19 Action News they were never any trouble.
Shafik graduated from Bay High in June of 2007 and was currently enrolled as a student at Cleveland State.
