CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - In the latest phase of the Ohio Department of Transportation's Innerbelt Bridge Safety Plan, crews will perform steel repairs to the Interstate 90 Innerbelt Bridge into downtown Cleveland, closing the bridge overnight Thursday, June 18 from approximately 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
This phase of the plan is part of ODOT's $10 million investment in the Innerbelt Bridge to restore full use of the structure, including heavy truck traffic by late 2009/early 2010.
The majority of work as part of this phase of the Safety Plan will be performed during daytime hours while the bridge remains open for service. Limited, overnight closures will however be necessary as crews work to complete steel reinforcements at locations throughout the structure.
Additional closures are expected in future phases of repair, however closures are not expected to impact peak travel times including rush hours. Details on future phases and additional closures will be forthcoming.
