GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - On Monday, June 22 crews will implement additional changes to the traffic pattern along State Route 2 and adjacent roadways.
Beginning Monday, crews will close the State Route 2 eastbound ramps to both State Route 306 north and southbound as well as the State Route 306 on ramp to State Route 2 eastbound until late July. During that time, the right lane of State Route 306 northbound (followed by southbound) will also be closed while widening work is completed.
State Route 2 east and westbound traffic remains shifted to the north.
Until early July, East 361st Street is closed between Curtis Boulevard and Lakeland Boulevard. Motorists may detour via Vine Street and Lakeland Boulevard.
Through the 2009 construction season, the Vine Street eastbound entrance ramp to State Route 2 westbound is closed. Motorists may detour via State Route 91. Until mid-July, one lane in each direction on Vine Street at State Route 2 remains closed.
Through late July, traffic at the intersection of Lost Nation Road and Oak Hill Lane will be maintained utilizing a single lane and traffic signals.
On Lost Nation Road, traffic is shifted to the west and maintained with one lane in each direction between Wood Road and Riverside Commons. The southbound Lost Nation Road ramp to westbound State Route 2 is closed, however access is maintained utilizing the northbound ramp to State Route 2 westbound. Reeves Road is closed at Lost Nation Road and the detour is set utilizing Hurricane Drive. These ramp restrictions and detours will extend for much of the 2009 construction season.
Work between Stevens Boulevard and Lost Nation Road will be completed in 2010 and work between State Route 91 and Stevens Boulevard will be completed in 2011.
The entire $85,819,416.31 project rehabilitates State Route 2 and adds a lane between State Route 91 and Newell Creek/State Route 306 and is expected to be complete in October of 2011. On average, about 68,000 vehicles travel this portion of State Route 2 each day.
