AMHERST, OH (WOIO)-- Emergency crews were called out to a home at 125 Greybark Lane for a report of lightning striking a home and causing injuries to two children.

The lightning bolt struck the chimney of the home and debris flew inside injuring a 6-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy who were watching television while their father was cooking in the kitchen.

Both children were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The children's father tells 19 Action News that both boys suffered bruises and lacerations from the explosion and need stitches.
