CLEVELAND, OH - Representative Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) hosts a four-day Foreclosure Prevention Fair at the Wolstein Center on July 17-20, 2009. Hundreds of HUD counselors, mortgage lenders and trained volunteers will be present to advise homeowners on restructuring their mortgages, obtaining more affordable monthly payments, and saving their homes.
The Center for Responsible Lending projects that homeowners in the Eleventh Congressional District of Ohio will suffer 5,566 foreclosures in 2009 and 18,531 foreclosures over the next four years. Throughout Ohio, the projection is more grim--87,500 foreclosures in 2009.
"We must help hardworking Ohioans keep their homes. This foreclosure fair will assist homeowners in restructuring their mortgages," said Rep. Fudge. "Saving my constituents' homes is a top priority for me. Just as I fight this battle in Washington, I am bringing the fight back home to Cuyahoga County with this foreclosure prevention fair. We must work together to save our homes."
This critical Foreclosure Prevention Fair is being held in collaboration with the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) and supported by more than 20 local and regional Mayors. "Ohio homeowners and others from surrounding states with unaffordable mortgages will owe a huge gratitude to Representative Fudge. The Congresswoman invited us to the Wolstein Center to provide free solutions to thousands of homeowners," said NACA CEO, Bruce Marks.
