School Daze: The Traditional 180-Day School Year Could Be Extended. Do We Really Need it?

Cleveland, OH (WOIO) - Four more weeks, hitting the books an extra 20 President Obama, Governor Ted Strickland thinks some of Ohio's children need to spend more time in the classroom.

But will extending the year help students learn more and improve standards? And why not all  school districts?

Is this even fair?

Its no doubt children can never learn too much but where will the money needed to pay teachers, keep the lights in the buildings on, gas in the buses come from?

Just a few questions 19 Action News is looking to have answered before the bell rings next month.
