NEW DETAILS: CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A teenage boy is dead after accidentally being shot in the head by his friend.
Gunfire erupted Sunday just after 10PM on Hamm Avenue.
Police have two people in custody - a 15-year-old boy and a 20-year-old male - but charges have yet to be filed.
19 Action News has learned the 15-year-old found the weapon in an abandoned home about a week ago.
All of the males were handling the gun throughout the day on Sunday and, apparently, there was one round left in the chamber.
As one of the suspects tried to unload the weapon, it slipped in his hand and a shot was squeezed off.
The 16-year-old was struck by the bullet. He was rushed to Metro where he later died.
No names are being released at this time.
