UPDATE: CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A late night police chase comes to a screeching halt on Cleveland's Eastside.

The hot pursuit started in Garfield Heights but ended with a crash on E. 131st & Harvard just before midnight after police witnessed a possible abduction.

A male appeared to be ordered into a vehicle, at which time he raised his arms and got into the vehicle. The vehicle sped westbound on Broadway Avenue from McCracken Road, with the vehicle's driver and passenger starting to struggle with each other. The vehicle began to weave with the occupants continuing to fight.

The vehicle turned onto E. 131st with the passenger opening the door several times and attempting to jump from the vehicle while the driver held him in. The officer attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle at the Cleveland border at which time the vehicle fled running red lights at Beachwood and Miles. The officer started to lose sight of the vehicle. The officer then observed smoke at the intersection of E. 131st and Harvard and observed that the vehicle had crashed and the driver fled on foot.

The vehicle was later found to be reported stolen. The passenger in the vehicle was injured and transported to Metro, as were three occupants from another vehicle involved in the crash who were treated and released.

The driver remains on the run.
