AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred shortly after 9AM Thursday morning at the First Merit Bank on Kenmore Boulevard.

Employees reported that a female entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect fled with an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white female 25 - 30 years old, 5'04" - 5'06", about 130 lbs. and light complexioned. She had what appeared to be a short brown wig, headband, yellow tinted sunglasses, light blue hospital scrub shirt, white shoes, and carrying a tan purse.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Akron Police Department.

The suspect appears to be the same person that robbed the Chase Bank located at 632 E. Market Street back on July 22nd.
