Free Agent: The King Plans to Make Like a Basketball and Bounce Next Year

Akron, OH (WOIO) - LeBron James said Friday he will not exercise his option for the 2010-2011 season and become a free agent.

"I signed a contract in 2006 with an option. It would make no sense for me to sign that contract if I didn't keep my options open. I'll let you fill in the blanks," James said today in Akron, at the launch of his new sneaker the Nike Air Max LeBron VII.

James will play this coming season for the Cavs, then become one of the most sought after free agents in NBA history.

James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh will all be free agents in 2010.
