CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - 19 Action News broke the story last week about ArcelorMittal restarting the Cleveland steel mill.
Now, the plant's management team and USW Local 979 leadership say plans are still being finalized.
They have not released an official number of employees returning. The first call back of employees will be approximately 165 people, primarily craftsmen in primary operations, during the week of August 17, said Terry Fedor, General Manager, ArcelorMittal Cleveland.
Iron production is expected to resume on the C-5 blast furnace in mid-September.
