Postal employee orders manager to go nude

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - A postal employee scheduled to retire at the end of the week allegedly forced a female supervisor to disrobe and walk nude through a mail-processing center.

Police Lt. Sylvia Trundle said Lonnie Wilson, 60, of Canton, threatened to kill the 43-year-old Akron woman Monday if she didn't comply. The woman walked in view of about a dozen workers before Wilson left.

"Apparently, the employees didn't know if he had a weapon and were very afraid of him," Trundle said.

Postal officials said Wilson didn't have a history of problems.

Wilson was scheduled to retire Friday after 24 years on the job.

He was jailed on charges of kidnapping, aggravated menacing and gross sexual imposition, Trundle said. He fled the postal facility in a car and was stopped nearby by police.

Terrence Sullivan, a postal inspector in Cleveland, said the motive hadn't been determined.

"They didn't work together, and we can't understand why this occurred," Sullivan said.
