CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The man suspected of shooting a 22 month old girl while she sat in her mom's car has been arrested.
Officers and agents of the Cleveland Division of Police and the US Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested 20-year old Darrin W. Harsley, Jr. for the Felonious Assault shooting of 22-month old De' Ajah Campbell.
A Felonious Assault warrant was issued for Harsley after witnesses identified him as the person who opened fire into a car in the area of Lakeview and Berkshire on Cleveland's northeast side shortly after 11 pm Tuesday night injuring the young child.
Harsley was arrested in a home at 625 E. 131 St. after officers tracked him to the apartment. He was taken into custody without incident and is being held in Cleveland City Jail pending the filing of formal charges against him.
Harsley has a history of drug trafficking, drug possession and weapons offenses. He was arrested and charged in February, 2008 with drug possession and trafficking as well as possession of criminal tools. He pled guilty in July 2008. He was then arrested on August 23, 2009 for carrying a concealed weapon. He was release on a $1,000 bond two days later and was awaiting court when he was arrested today.
