CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Construction starts Monday at Perk Park following the robbery and execution-style shootings of two Cleveland Clinic workers nearly half a year ago.

One of the two victims died, the other survived and made a miraculous recovery.

Soon, a lawn will replace the concrete walls dipping through the park located at E. 12th Street and Chester Avenue.

The park will be raised to street level lit throughout with new light fixtures.

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and Councilman Joe Cimperman fought for the park's renovation.
