SANDUSKY, OH (WOIO) - A Michigan man awaiting court sentencing on felony drug charges took his former neighbors for a wild ride this weekend.

Brendan Michael Chobod, 11-years-old, was abducted from his Michigan home in Isabella County and was found nearly 300 miles away by Cedar Point park officials Saturday.

Police say the boy was abducted by former neighbor Andrew A. Smith, 21-years-old, early Friday morning and that Smith had left a note behind at his residence saying he was going camping.

Smith and Chobod lived in the same trailer park at one point in time and Smith had recently been evicted but was currently staying with grandparents.

More than nine law enforcement agencies were involved in the child's safe return.
