Akron Purse Snatcher's on the Loose

Akron, OH (WOIO) - Authorities in Akron need your help.

Detectives are searching for suspects in two separate purse snatching's.

Both happened over the weekend.

The first robbery occurred Sunday afternoon outside Firestone Stadium. The 63-year old victim says she was watching a baseball game when the suspect approached the victim from behind, snatched her purse and ran.'

The suspect is a black male, 16 - 20 years old, 5'08" - 6'0", 150 - 160 lbs. with short black hair. He was wearing a dark green shirt and gray pants.

The second purse snatching took place later that evening at the Rite Aid on East Waterloo Road. A 56-year-old says she was walking into the store when when someone ripped her purse off her shoulder and ran.

The suspect is a white male, 20 - 30 years old, 5'05" - 5'09", with brown hair and sideburns. He was wearing a black baseball hat, brown or black leather jacket with a tear or split on the back, white t-shirt, blue jeans, and dark shoes.
