CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A hung jury couldn't decide on the guilt or innocence of Walter Triplett Jr. on involuntary manslaughter charges, so they found him guilty of felonious assault.

Now, Triplett has been sentenced to 18-years in prison because of his prior record.

Prosecutors are considering re-trying him on the involuntary manslaughter charge.

Triplett punched 22-year-old Michael Corrado outside of a W. 6th Street bar. Corrado fell over and cracked his head on the sidewalk.

The Cuyahoga County Coroner ruled Michael Corrado's death a homicide.

Today on 19 Action News First at 4, the judge gets into it with Triplett's mother about the actions her son should have took instead of punching Michael Corrado.

AND, we'll have sound with Walter Triplett Jr. post sentencing.
