CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The 19-year old who police say shot and killed Maple Heights mailman Daniel Kondras is speaking out.
Randie J. Winston, who is locked up on nearly a dozen charges including aggravated murder, kidnapping, tampering with evidence, tells 19 Action News that he didn't know what he was doing when he shot Mr. Kondras Sept. 17th, 2009.
Winston says he was high on drugs.
Winston's mother, Nicole Givham, also spoke EXCLUSIVELY to Action News. She says she can't believe her son did what he's accused of. She says he was not a bad kid.
Kondras, a 23-year-veteran of the U.S. Postal Service, was shot in Maple Heights while delivering mail earlier this month.
The 53-year old was transported to Marymount and then life-flighted to Metro Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
