Cleveland, OH (WOIO) - Saturn's are going the way of GMC.

Wednesday General Motors announced that it closing the Saturn brand.

The move came after Penske Automotive went back on its word to acquire the division.

According to a statement released by Penske, it says they can no longer buy Saturn, because and unknown manufacturer rejected plans to build vehicles that would be distributed under the Saturn brand name.

Saturn is one of four brands that G.M. plans to eliminate in the United States.

Pontiac will be shut down at the end of this year.
