Summit County, OH (WOIO) - Fooling with your phone in Summit County may soon be illegal.

Lawmakers there are looking to become the latest to ban texting and driving.

Officials agree, it is a hazard and plan to put it to a vote later this month.

Councilman Jon Poda introduced legislation, which will ban sending and reading typed messages on cell phones.

Cleveland imposed a text-message ban earlier this year.

Summit County's next meeting is set for October 19th.
