Defendant In O-DOT Scam Sentenced to Six-Months in Jail

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Thomas Short was sentenced to six-months in prison and was handed a 5-thousand-dollar fine Wednesday for his part in the O-DOT scams.

Short, 63, of Lancaster, is one of nine defendants charged for using a wide-variety of scams to illegally steer ODOT contracts and business to friends and associates from 2000 to 2007.

On August 24, 2009, Short pleaded guilty to one count of attempted, tampering with records (F4).
